3D viewer opens with full map, not screen view

I loaded V18 and opened my workspace.  When I click on the 3D button the viewer displays the entire map.  V17 used to display only the information on my screen.  I've looked, but can't find the location to set the preference to be my screen only.
Can you please point me to the correct menu.  Thank you.

    Hello,

    Displaying the full map is the default behavior in Global Mapper 18.  We are planning to add a setting so you can display just the data on your 2D screen in the 3D Viewer, but that has not been implemented yet.  You can link the 2D and 3D views via the 3D toolbar, if that helps.

    A button to limit the 3D view to the 2D display would be very nice.  

    The quality of the 2D image in V18 is quite poor when I zoom into my AOI.

    Hi geoltech,

    In order to maintain responsiveness in the UI while potentially needing to display large areas of imagery, the viewer may fill in initial renderings of an area with lower-quality tiles, and then gradually refines them as time allows. If you're not getting the higher resolution eventually, then that's something that we would probably want to look at.

    No matter how long I leave the 3D it never achieves the same resolution a V17.
