Create Regular Grid generating incorrect cell width

When I use the grid setup to specify a cell width and height, the resulting rectangle areas have different values.
For example a cell setup of 100km x 100km for Germany creates boxes of 61km x 61km using MERCAT(WGS84).
I think the tool does not take into account the the latitude of the area. Any suggestion how to avoid this problem or is it a bug?

Hello,
That sounds like a bug to me.
I recommend getting the latest release of Global Mapper to see if the problem has already been fixed. If the problem persists in the latest release, then your best bet is to send an e-mail describing your workflow and the results (error message, etc.), with a copy of your sample data, to Blue Marble Geographics support (geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com). This will ensure that the support team sees the problem and can provide a timely response. Thank you.
Cheers,
Bob
