Is it possible to buffer objects, in this case points, by an attribute?

I want to select (by edit tool) multiple points and create buffers, but only create overlap buffers on points the have the same attribute

    Hello,

    1. Using the Search tool (Binoculars button on toolbar), specify a query to select all of the features with the attribute value you want.  
    2. Click the New Search button to run the query.
    3. At the bottom of the window, be sure to have a check next to "Synchronize feature selection in the results list with the main window."  
    4. Click the Select All button.  This will select the features in the main window.
    5. On the main window, right-click and choose Advanced Feature Creation Options | BUFFER - Create buffer around selected area feature(s), and define your buffer.
