Selecting using GM Script

Using GM Script I want to select a layer, then select any polygons from another layer that have any overlap. Manually this would be done using "Advanced Selection Options -> Select All Features Enclosed Within the Selected Areas -> Any Overlay Allowed".

Can this be scripted and is there a way to access the "Advanced Selection Options" using GM script ?

I need similar functionality.....access through scripting of advanced feature selection. Please add access to these functions!!!!
