Is there a way to export to PDF without a page size?

I am trying to set up a batch export of geotiffs to pdf of large maps. When I export to PDF, I have to choose a page size which often gives me a large amount of excess white space (fitting a square map on an 8.5x11). Is there anyway to have it auto select a size to minimize whitespace? I have thousands of maps and I would like to convert to PDF without looking at each one individually to determine which page size and orientation would be best. Ideally I would like the maps to be as close to identical with the geotiffs as possible. Any ideas?

Hello,

Have you tried using PDF_PAGE_ORIENTATION="AUTO"?  This will choose the page orientation based on the data bounds.
