Support for dual-quad processors

Is it possible to add support for dual/quad- processors for instance when exporting and importing images? Would be nice for instance when exporting GeoTiff the software can work with 1-2-4 files at the same time.

    While there are not any short-term plans to add more multi-threading to Global Mapper, what you could do to take advantage of dual/quad processors is to simply run multiple instances of Global Mapper.
