Point Thinning

I use GM to manipulate LIDAR data a lot, and one thing that I have found really useful is "thinning" my point clouds so they are easier to work with for me and my customers. As of right now I don't think GM has a point thinning option and I have to use a different software. Is that something that you guys are looking to do in the future or does it exist now and I just don't know it?

    Hello,

    Global Mapper does not have a point thinning option, per se.  There are a few other options, as discussed in this thread.  There are also a number of filtering and classification options available with the Lidar toolbar.

    It's 2018 and I'm back with the same question. I have version 18.2 of GM with the LiDAR extension. Has this feature been added since 2014?

    In Global Mapper 20, we added an option to Spatially Thin LiDAR Data.
