UTM to WGS84

Is there any way to import a csv file of UTM coordinates into a DEM with WGS84 projection, and have them automatically transform to the correct lat longs?

Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

If you load your WGS84 DEM first, it will set the base projection in GM to WGS84.  Then, import your CSV file, being sure to tell GM when it asks that the data is in UTM.  The coordinates from the CSV will be reprojected from UTM to WGS84 and placed appropriately.  If you want to save the reprojected coordinates, export the CSV data.

    Cheers,

Import a CSV file of UTM coordinates into a blank Global Mapper.
Then set your display to Projection: Geographic (Latitude/Longitude), and Datum: WGS84.
    ( Tools | Configure... | Projection tab )
Then export your CSV to a file of your choice, and coordinates will be in Lat/Long.
You don't need any other files to do this.

If you want to include elevations with your exported points, you can also load a DEM file before exporting your file, and choosing to include elevations.
