GeoPDFs to GeoTiff conversion - global mapper 17

I have a script that converts geopdfs to getotiffs that works in 14 but NOT global mapper 17.
It is simply exporting blank, very small geotiffs. I think perhaps it is not picking up on any of the layers? 

I am using a variation of the this script for global mapper 17:  http://nationalmap.gov/ustopo/documents/ustopo2gtif_current.pdf , page 10
