    1. Using the Digitizer, select your line feature.
    2. Right-click and choose Move/Reshape Features->Resample/Split Selected Feature(s) at Specified Spacing
    3. On the Sample Spacing Setup window, choose "Sample Features at Fixed Distance Interval"
    4. Type in the Spacing Distance, and choose the correct unit.
    5. Choose your options for naming and keeping endpoints
    6. At the bottom of the window,  you probably want to uncheck "Keep All Original Vertices"
    7. Check "Split Into New Features at New Vertices"
    8. Click OK
    These instructions assume you are using Global Mapper 17.1.  If you are using an earlier version, the window may have different options, but the general process should be the same.

    Bob,
    Note that when "Sample Features at Fixed Distance Interval" is selected,
    the "Start Label Number" is active in the previous section.
    While that works fine, it would help if users were able to recognize that it is available with this selection.

    Good point.  I forgot to mention that.
