Hello,

I'm trying to create a single area around the group of areas and lines. Basically I just want to get the boundary of a collection of small areas and lines.

Does anybody know how to do it?

I have GM v14.1

Thanks

  • I found out a way of doing it. First, create points out of each polygons. Next, create coverage area for point features.

In the Control Center, right-click on the layer(s) for which you want to create a bounding polygon, and choose the BBOX/COVERAGES command.  When prompted about creating rectangular or polygonal bounds, choose NO to create a polygonal coverage area.
  • It seems that I don't have any options after I use BBOX function. It just creates a rectangular box. The method that I described previously worked for me. Thanks.

That option must have been added in a newer version than Global Mapper 14.1.
