How to create an area around a group of polygons and lines

I found out a way of doing it. First, create points out of each polygons. Next, create coverage area for point features.

In the Control Center, right-click on the layer(s) for which you want to create a bounding polygon, and choose the BBOX/COVERAGES command. When prompted about creating rectangular or polygonal bounds, choose NO to create a polygonal coverage area.

It seems that I don't have any options after I use BBOX function. It just creates a rectangular box. The method that I described previously worked for me. Thanks.
