Global Mapper v24.1

Labels Only Dispay in Middle

Hello
For a little while, no mater what type of feature i am trying to label (Point, line, area/polygon) the automatically generated labels will only display in the middle of the feature (obscuring the linework). I have chosen every option in the label font editor's "label position relative to..." but this doesnt appear to effect the positioning.  If i unselect "display labels for layer if any shown" than my labels will not display at all (no matter font size or scale).
I am wondering if any one has an idea what i may be going on, and/or how to get the position control back over my labels?
Thanks

What version of Global Mapper are you using?

The "Label Position Relative to Point Feature" option only applies to point features.  Global Mapper places labels for areas at the centroid, and for lines, at the center of the longest line segment.  If you want to customize label placement, your best option is to create point features at the center of area or line features (using Advanced Feature Creation Options on the Digitizer right-click context menu) , and use those features to display labels instead of using the default labels for areas and lines.  When you create point features at the center, the the attributes from the original features will be copied and can be used for labels, if needed.
