Erase polygon shapefile from another shapefile

Is it possible to preform an erase in Global Mapper using 2 shapefiles like you can in ARCMap?

What version of Global Mapper are you using?  Can you provide a more detailed description of what happens when you perform an erase in ArcMap, perhaps with before and after screen captures?   Thanks.

Using v.17 with the latest release.
Here is an example of the before erase

then I tile this shapefile out, and do the same with a bunch of other shapefiles and erase those tiles from the tiles that came from this tile.
Here is the end result.

Is this different from using Crop to Selected Area(s), and checking the option to keep data outside the areas instead of inside?

It kind of works, but not really. I get a ton of "Invalid Polygon" errors when it runs into an island and doesn't create islands when it should

I have added feature request #17192 to our task list so we can evaluate adding this functionality to a future version of Global Mapper.  We will post a message on this thread when the status of the feature request changes.
