Error with TriangulationLib.dll in GlobalMapper9

Hi,  I am hoping someone might be able to help.  I have a user that is running GlobalMapper9 on there computer. They are in the process of getting a new computer, HP elitebook 840G2 with windows 7 enterprise 64bit.  I have installed globalmapper9 on the system. However when the user goes to run one of his .gmw file we get the following error.  Unable to load TriangulationLib.Dll.  I have checked and that DLL is in the following location c:\program files (x86)\GlobalMapper9

Any one run into this before and have a fix?

The most likely explanation is that TriangulationLib.dll has a dependency that is missing on the new computer, but existed on the old computer.  Was the old computer running Windows 7 also?  There is a program called Dependency Walker that can be used to determine what file is missing.  Most likely, it is an old compiler-related system file that is no longer part of the default Windows installation.

Has your user considered upgrading to the latest version of Global Mapper?
  • HI Bmg_Bob,

Thanks for the post.  I think I might of found the issue.  I found a post for a while ago about replacing the 3 DLL files (TriangulationLib.dll, MSVCP71.dll, msvcr71.dll)  found that the new system was missing the MSVCP71.dll file.  Once I put that in place the program started working.

Thanks for the information on Dependency Walker, that is a good program to have in my toolkit.

Yes I am trying to convince the user that we should upgrade to the latest version.
