Raster file set zoom in

I am working on a large set of raster files. Zoomin in is usually not a problem, but if I zoom in too far redraw is very slow. It seems like there is a threshold that once passed makes GM jump to a different and slower redraw procedure. I have tried switching off the least useful images without success. Is there a tick mark I can set somewhere that limits the available zoom levels.

I don't know of any reason why that should happen. Are you using a map catalog to manage your raster files? What version of Global Mapper are you using?
