I would like to know if the data available in this website can be used in global mapper and if so how does one do it the website is www.ortho.gis.iastate.edu/ it contains color photos that i wish to use to overlay onto my maps thanks Terry

While you can't directly access their seamless online database, if you visit http://www.igsb.uiowa.edu/nrgislibx/ it looks like you can download the actual .sid files for the various data layers for your county (or counties of interest). Just download the (very large) .sid files and load those into Global Mapper using the File->Open Data File menu command to view the data.
