Is it possible to export a jpg with only stuff OUTSIDE of a feature, currently you can do everything inside a feature but I can't see where to pick only stuff inside a feature.

What you can do is draw a very large area enclosing all of your data, then add your feature that you want to exclude as an island/hole in that large area using the Digitizer Tool, then do your export cropped to the large area with the hole in it. That way you will only get what is in the large area but not in the hole.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Ok, I imported the jpg
I "create area features from the selected layer bounds"
I digitize a polygon inside the layer bounds
I Export the jpg as a jpg and check Crop to Selected Area Features

No hole in the resulting raster where the inner feature was drawn.

Either when only the layer bounds were selected or when both selected.
