Hi Mark,

I did try it a few times but it's a long waiting time for data set. Do you know some other web page with bathy files?

A newer on-line source of global bathymetry can be found at:

http://www.marine-geo.org/tools/GMRTMapTool/

It allows you to choose your own areas to download with some resolution choices.  It might work better for you.
