Area measuring

Hello! My area measurings looks very strange... I open the *.map file, made in the last version of OZI explorer. Ozi shows length and area measurements correctly. I'm opened OZI in GM. Then with measure tool I'm draw a square with 100 m edge. The result must be 10000 sq.m. ore one hectare. But I see 31 500 sq.m in the bottom of the screen... What's wrong???
