Hello!

Can anyone tell me, how to load my own map, created in global mapper, into my mobile phone. Also I would like to know if I can open the points in global mapper, which I've saved on my phone.

PS. I have "Nokia 6110 navigator" phone, which is GPS receiver as well.

Sorry for my terrible English

Always yours
David

    David,

Since no one has answered, I'll weigh in with what I "believe" to be true.

Highly unlikely you'll ever be able to do this. Why:
If your Nokia is like a Garmin, they both use low power ARM CPUs, then the internal mapping language is a very efficient and small binary language unique to each GPS brand.

Global Mapper's vector output is to industry standard mapping protocols, never the unique binary language needed for a GPS.

In the case of Garmin, Stanislaw Kozicki, the polish software genius who reverse engineered Garmin's binary language and built a text to binary compiler called cGPSmapper which converts these text files to Garmin readable binary img files. Global Mapper will export these unique text files (Polish, MP) for input to the cGPSmapper compiler.

To create Nokia compatible binary maps, a similar path would be needed. Extremely difficult, hence highly unlikely.

Suggest you export a small set of your maps to MP format and open in a text editor to understand what I'm saying.
