It is possible to extrude a STL file?

I am trying to convert a DEM file to STL file to use it in Flow 3D. However, what I obtained is a slim layer with the elevation, I will need a solid, it is possible to extrude the STL or kind of processing before the conversion.
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Jopatarroyoq, You could try altering the minimum elevation of the model that is being viewed. Go to the Overlay Control Center, select the DEM layer and click on the Options button. Decrease the Minimum Elevation Value in the Elevation Range section. If you look at this in the Global Mapper 3D viewer, it appears to extrude the surface.

I am not entirely sure how this will export to STL and how the surface will function in Flow 3D, so please let me know how it goes!

    Hi, Josie,

I also tried it as jopatarroyoq did, and got the same result. I also adjust the min elevation as you said. It seems extruded in Global Mapper. However, it is still a surface when imported into CFD (computational Fluid Dynamics) software such as Flow-3D, and Ansys.
    Please see attached pics.

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
