gmc file for quick display of rasterdata - vectordata?

Hello,
I appreciate the gmc files because the are only referenced and loadad only at a specified scale / GSD or so on.
Are there similar thresholds for vetordata? I didn't find them.

I want to reference a huge mount of vector files without displaying them.

Are ther chances to get such a feature?

Henry,

If you create a map catalog from the vector files then you can apply the same options for when to display them as you can for raster layers in a map catalog. The vector layers will only need to be loaded when you create the map catalog, then they won't display as part of the map catalog until you zoom in to the specified zoom ranges.
