Title Blocks - Dimensioning

I need to be able to insert a title block onto a map with dimensions 4.5" W by 3.75" H and with a specific font type and size. I had hoped to be able to create the title block in Visio where I can dimension the block size accordingly but I've not figured out how to export the block as a layer into GM such that when I print an 11" by 17" map the title block appears with the same dimensions as created in Visio. Can someone give me some advice on this?

I would export as a JPG. You could even use a screen capture utility to make a JPG of the title block from visio and then import that into GM.

Once you get your title block image, use the File->Open Data File at Fixed Screen Location menu command to load that image at some fixed location and size on the screen.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks gents, but when I carefully ensure that the label is 4.5" W by 3.75" H in Viso and then Open Data at Fixed Screen Location, then tick Original Pixel Size, then align to bottom right side of map, when I then go to Print Preview and select a scale of 1,000,000, the label prints out on a 11" by 17" drawing as only about an inch wide by a little less than an inch high. How do I ensure that the labels maintains the original Viso dimensions of 4.5" by 3.75"???

Your image is really a fixed number of pixels in size, not inches. A given number of pixels will be a different number of inches in size depending on the size of a pixel on a device.
I would suggest using the 'Fixed Percentage of View Width' option and use a percentage of 40.9% to get your image to be 4.5" wide when printed on paper that is 11" wide.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
Did I ever tell you that in my GM I cannot enter a decimal point in "Set as % of Screen...."?

I don't think you had mentioned it, but you are right. I have fixed that now. I have placed a new build of Global Mapper 9 with the fix at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper9.zip . Simply download that file and extract the contents over your existing v9.xx installation to give it a try.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Quite right. The "fix" works like a charm and I can position my labeling EXACTLY where I want it.
Thanks once again Mike.
