Geology: strike angle taken from attribute value

It would seem to be very useful to have an option to get the rotation angle for the strike/dip symbols from the value of an attribute field, yet I am not seeing such when I edit strike-and-dip points. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Yes there is a way to get this from an attribute. If you have your points classified as one of the strike-and-dip types, the point will be checked for 'STRIKE_AZI', 'DIP_AZI', 'STRIKE_DIR', or 'DIP_DIR' attributes. The first of those found will be used for the rotation angle.
Thanks,

That's exactly what's needed. I infer that the procedure is automatic, if the attributes are given the correct key-word names. The Survey data I'm trying to use simply name the variable "STRIKE". So all I have to do is determine what their convention is for assigning an azimuth to a point. If I get it wrong, I suppose the entire map will have the structure rotated ninety degrees...which in turn might imply an equal shift in the direction of continents are drifting. I'd better be careful! Thanks.
