Default ASCII import - point feature with text string

    Hi guys,

I am looking for some help/guidance with the following problem. I have a text file (CSV) containing hundreds of lat-long pairs and text strings. The format of the file is:

    <lat1>,<long1>,<text1>
    <lat2>,<long2>,<text2>
    <lat3>,<long3>,<text3>
    ...
    <latn>,<longn>,<textn>

I can import these into Global Mapper (using the ASCII text import option and selecting point features) but how can I display the text associated with each lat-long pair as well?

    Many thanks,
    Andy

    Andy,

If you export the data as 'Point Only' in the ASCII text import and also check the box to include attributes from coordinate lines and also uncheck the option to treat the 3rd values as elevations, you should get the text pulled in and displayed automatically.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    *embarassed grin*

Sorry to waste your time with such trivial questions Mike... I stupidly hadn't checked the relevant options and now feel very embarassed. It works absolutely perfectly.

Thanks for your time and reply,
    Andy
