Question UTF-8 encoding for labels and attributes

    Hello~

Is it possible to manipulate a setting somewhere such that the dbf exported with a shapefile is encoded in UTF-8? We are mapping languages and often need to use special characters.

    Thanks,
    ~Gin

There is not currently any support in Global Mapper for encoding text written to the DBF file accompanying Shapefiles as UTF-8 text. However if your text is encoded as UTF-8 when it is imported, it should stay encoded that way on export.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
