Hi,
I would like to be able to extract a surrounding polygon of a range of grid values. Hope what I descirbe makes sense. I am using GM 11.01.
eg a water bottom depth grid: I would like to create a set of polygons for 3 depth ranges.
1) 0-1000m
2)1000-2500m
3)2500m to max depth of the grid
Is there an easy way to do this?
Contouring in GM can create areas if you turn on the "generate enclosed areas" based on the current elevation shader. This comes close to what I want to do. However this only creates polgons for each discrete contour, not those for the ranges 1000-2500m regions.
How can I create the polygons for the 1000-2500m region?
Do I need to create a colour shader for the levels I want to create a polygon for?
As I have never written a GM script is there any way to script this as need to create 3 polygon regions for a number of grids of differing value ranges? If If scripting it can be done, how do learn to do this?
thanks
Dino
