Default Import KML file in GM

Dear Support,

I am trying to convert a kmz file in a Mapinfo TAB/ DAT one.

The kmz loads fine into google earth, there are some position points with a label and an icon that I read from the web (find it attached). But when opening the kmz file in GM only the points and the label is displayed but not the icons.

Maybe the icons cannot be read from the web by GM.?

Could I place my icons/figures (.png, jpeg...) in my local directory and replaced in the Kmz file the URL address by the directory where my icons/images are? If yes, how can I modify the file, I have tried but without success.

Thanks

Diana

Diana,

Global Mapper does not currently support pulling in icons referenced by a KMZ file (either from the web or from local files) and adding them as custom symbols for display. I will add this to the todo list though.

Thanks,

Mike
