how to split geotiff ?

hi i'm rookie please help me
i have 1 gb geotiff image, i want to split at least 50 mb each, how?
and how to make gridline ?

Here is one suggestion:

You have to "translate" MB into PIXEL-SIZE, this is how it is done with UNCOMPRESSED TIF.
For instance an image which is 10 000 x 7 500 pixels and contains RGB = 10000*7500*3 = 225 000 000 = 225 MB

I assume you want a square file:

x^2*3 = 50 000 000 x = sqrt (50 000 000 / 3) = 4000 pixels in width and height

1. Load your GeoTiff in GlobalMapper
2. File - Export - Raster and Elevation - GeoTIFF
3. In the Gridding tab - select: Specify Individual Grid Cell Pixel Size: Width: 4000 Height: 4000
4. Ok.
5. Select output directory
