Having trouble importing jpg with .ers
I have some images from a program called hyper tile that has created a jpg, ers and jgw file. When i try to bring the ers into GM it says the overlay could not be determined.
I am doing it wrong or is this positioning file type not supported.
Thanks

Just load the .jpg file and the external metadata files (like .ers or .jgw) will automatically be located and used to position the file.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Actually there is still an issue with location. The jpg imports but not georeferenced correctly. The header from the ers is:
DatasetHeader Begin
Version = "7.1"
Name = "1-1.ers"
SourceDataset = "1-1.jpg"
LastUpdated = Wed Jan 05 06:53:16 GMT 2011
DataFile = "1-1.jpg"
DataSetType = Translated
DataType = Raster
ByteOrder = LSBFirst
CoordinateSpace Begin
Datum = "EPSG:3785"
Projection = "EPSG:3785"
CoordinateType = EN
Rotation = 0:0:0.0
CoordinateSpace End
RasterInfo Begin
CellType = Unsigned8BitInteger
CellInfo Begin
Xdimension = 0.07539199078928505
Ydimension = 0.07539199078911452
CellInfo End
NrOfLines = 8192
NrOfCellsPerLine = 8192
RegistrationCoord Begin
Eastings = 17034514.39153242856264114
Northings = -3182449.72755111381411552

In what way is it improperly positioned? Are you being prompted for a projection or is one being automatically assigned?
Thanks,
Mike

It asks for "Select Projection for 1-1.jpg" and suggests MGA and GDA zone which i am using for previously loaded. After i accept that it puts it in the wrong location 16000km to the SE.

Based on the ERS file the projection should be Mercator with the 'Google Maps' datum I think. If you select that it should properly place the JPG file.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike
