Default Error in Projection from Geographic LAT/LONG to UTM

I am new with this program and having a hard time wrapping my head around a problem I am having, when I project from Geographic LAT/LONG to UTM NAD83 Zone 10, DEM data from GeoBase, one of the collections of my DEM's will shoot off into space every time, and never the same file twice, sporatic... anyone else getting this problem?

This typically means that one of your files was brought in with the wrong projection so it is not placed properly to start with. Do all of your files show up at the correct locatio nprior to reprojecting? Also, what version of Global Mapper are you using?

    Thanks,

    Mike
