Default Climate Atlas of the United States shp file projection?

    Greetings,

I recently purchased the CD of 'The Climate Atlas of the United States' (ver. Sept 2002). All the data is in shp file format but there is no projection data for the shp files. The CD is set up for viewing the data in ArcView but I want to use the shp files with Tiger data as well as DEMs, Topos, NAIPs etc.

Anybody have an idea as what prj file to use for these shp files??

    Thanks,

    Alan,

I searched online and found what I think is the projection definition at http://lwf.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/about/cd....html#SPHEROID .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Default One step forward and one half step sideways

    Hi Mike,
OK. I figured out how to make the PRJ file for this and it works just fine. However, it is in NAD27 and everything else I have is in NAD83. I can convert Climate Atlas files one at a time I suppose, but is there an easy way to convert them all to NAD83 from NAD27?

    Thanks again,
    Alan Wicks

    Alan,

You could use the File->Batch Convert/Reproject menu command to batch convert your data from NAD27 to new files that use NAD83.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
