    Question Me2000 west zone

I need to convert some data into the Maine State Plane Coordinate System, NAD83(96), US Survey Feet, ME2000 WEST ZONE. Global Mapper does not currently have this zone. I have not been able to find any information on this zone. Does anybody know where I can get the conversion transformation info for this zone?

You should just be able to select the 'State Plane' projection in Global Mapper, then choose NAD83 as the datum, Maine West (FIPS 1802) as the zone, and US Survey Feet as the units to get that projection.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

The Maine West FIPS 1802 zone is different, and I believe is from 1983. There is a newer system from 2000 which includes Maine East, Central, and West. The conversion I am looking for is in the Corpscon 6.0 software provided by the USACE. It is Maine West (2000), FIPS 1813.

Do you happen to know the parameters used by the new Maine State Plane zones?

    Thanks,

Aha, that does it, although I don't know if there is yet a FIPS code number for these new zone definitions.

I will get these added to Global Mapper, but in the meantime you might visit Spatial Reference List -- Spatial Reference and look at Maine CS2000 NAD83(HARN) definitions to be able to create the projection in Global Mapper. There should be PRJ file definitions for each one that you could save to a PRJ file and load into Global Mapper.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I have gone ahead and added support for the new Maine zones to a v11 build. If you are using the v11 beta you can download the new v11 build from http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper11.zip and extract the contents over your existing installation to give it a try.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
