Combine vector layers when creating elevation grid

I have 4 dxf files each with conntour values for a plot about 4km sqaure

File 1 has existing contour values of 30m for entire plot
File 2 has existing contour values at 2m for a section in the middle
File 3 has existing contour values at 1m for a section in the middle of file 2
File 4 has proposed new contour values at 1m for numerous sections over file 3

The proposed contours in file 4 tie in to the contours of file 3.

My question is how do i create an elevation grid that assigns priority to files, 4,3,2,1 in that order?

I hope i have explained myself.

BTW I am still on V11 (if i could upgarde from 11 to 13 I would)

Thanks

John

I would separate create elevation grids from each DXF file, then just order those grids in the Control Center in the desired order. That would get you close, although for the proposed new contours things might get difficult. There really isn't an easy way to perfectly merge those, you would need to edit the features and delete the segments in layer 3 that are replaced by segments in layer 4, then create a grid from that combined set of contour lines.

    Thanks,
