Is there a way to change the name of the elevation, area & length attributes to specific ones (like Z, Shape_Area & Shape_Len)?

Thanks in advance!

After you have all of your data loaded, simply select all of the features with the Digitizer Tool, then right-click and select to edit them and rename the attributes as desired.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

That works well, but then when I save the vector data as shapefile and reload it, the attribute name goes back to its default ELEVATION, even when I do this with user defined types... Is there a work around? Thanks Mike.

Is the attribute name changing to ELEVATION or is a new duplicate attribute named ELEVATION being created? If the latter, make sure NOT to check the option to create 3D features when doing the Shapefile export, otherwise you will get an elevation value for each point stored with the coordinates (in addition to any attribute values) and that will cause a new ELEVATION attribute to be created on import.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
