Hi all,

Im having a problem getting some DEM data from the USGS into 3ds max properly. The surface appears to tesselate correctly, but comes in tilted at like 45 degrees along two axis. I havent had this problem before exporting data from usgs data and Im wondering if im just missing a setting or something.

My Datum is correct according to the meta file that came from USGS (NAD83, Arc Degrees, meter elevation).

The data file im working with is here:

Any help or if someone could take a look, Id be most grateful.

You likely need to first change to a projected system, like UTM, on the Projection tab of the Configuration dialog prior to exporting so that your horizontal (XY) units match the vertical units for applications that don't know about map projections.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
