Hi Jeff,
I finally got it to work but if I go through the workflow as per the post so it works ok - nice feature BTW.
I do get an issue if the 3D window is already open when I do the profile with the following error:
Error with 3D view handle of OnMouseMove
Read access violation at data address 0x0000000000000010,

Once I close the window and reopen it is ok. The error doesn't crash GM or the 3D window.

Hi kentman,
I haven't seen that particular problem, nor was I able to replicate it (seemed like a simple enough case, but it didn't throw the exception when I tried it), but there are definitely a few related open tickets for the 3D path profile that I'll be looking at shortly. I've opened a new ticket, #18386, for this issue, and we'll report back here when we've fixed it.
Best regards,

I recommend getting the latest release of Global Mapper 17 to see if the problem has already been fixed.
Cheers,
Bob
