Assign elevations to georeferenced image
Hello,
I have a georeferenced satellite image and in a separate file/layer, a georeferenced DEM for the same area as shown in the satellite image.
I would like to create a GeoTIFF which would contain the satellite image but with elevation data from the DEM written onto the image. This way, I can export one GeoTIFF and other users can view the satellite image in 2D and in 3D.
AutoCAD has an option to drape the image on top of the DEM, but I'd like to bypass CAD if possible using Global Mapper.
Currently running Global Mapper v.17.0. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Global Mapper can drape the image over the DEM, but there is no way to save a GeoTIFF that contains both the image and the elevation data -- you can get one or the other. Having said that, you can use Global Mapper to export a 3D PDF that would allow other users to interact with the image in a viewer.
