Exporting tabular data

I don't know which forum to put this in, so here it goes...

Can Global Mapper export the data from a .KML file that I have opened? An agency sent me a KML file with points. When I click on the point with the info button, it gives me data about the bridge. I have 200 bridges. Can I export this into a tabular form, like .txt, or .doc, or .xls so I can have all 200 in text form?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

    Mike,

Yes, you can easily export any loaded vector data (like Points with attributes) to new files using the File->Export->Export Vector Data menu command. I would suggest exporting perhaps to the CSV format to get something you can easily load in Excel.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

Worked like a charm Mike, thanks! You are right, using the caomma deliminated works better than checking the box for tab deliminated. The tabs for some reason cause blank field to collapse in, so when you open in excel the data doesn't stay lined up in columns. Problem solved though by cmma delim. Thanks again!
