Navit bin file export

Any plans to enable export to the navit bin file format?
A "partial?" description of the format can be found at Binfile - Navit's Wiki
Given that navit is open source by design getting the full spec should be straight forward.

This is the first I've heard of the format. Do you have any sample data? It should be relatively easy to support since it is described on that web page.
Thanks,

Tiles converted from OSM data can be found at Navit :: Planet Extractor
Each is about 100Mb.
A description for users to build their own using the available OS tools can be found at OpenStreetMap - Navit's Wiki but it requires building OSM format maps then running those through "maptool". It's even more difficult if you're making contours from SRTM. I can tell you I'd rather just do it all from inside globalmapper and then just hit export at the end of the day.
The format is under active developement and may include features such as DEM shading in the future but should always be well described and will hopefully always be backward compatible.
